It was in 1945 that Gaston Arsac returned to his homeland after being a prisoner of war. He married Thérèse and settled on the Chaumette farm where, at the time, mixed farming and animal breeding were practiced. Passionate about viticulture and wine, he planted the first vines on the slopes of La Chaumette. At the time, many people thought that hillside farming was very difficult, if not impossible. But Gaston managed to produce his wine. 60 years later, his son, Joël, and his grandsons, Dimitri & Sébastien, decided to continue the work begun by Gaston and took over the estate by certifying it as organic. The work of the vineyard with horses, grassing of the soil, organic compost carried out with the estate's cows (also certified organic breeding), preparation of herbal teas, pruning and manual harvesting only; all these tasks carried out by the Arsac brothers are part of the ancestral know-how passed on by their grandfather.
