Sandro Fay founded his winery by reinvesting in his old family plot in the early 1970’s. He carefully purchased properties surrounding the plots and began farming on the high slopes that stretch through the Alpine region of Lombardy. Due to the steep hillside, these vines are organically tended to by hand.  Sandro made his name by working with the native varietal of Chiavennasca, known to the rest of the world as Nebbiolo.  His two children have taken over the roles of wine making but stick to his elegant style. This wine is aged in oak to produce a wine that has soft tannins and an elegant mouthfeel with notes of cherry, licorice and spice with a slightly herbaceous character.
