This Domaine has been producing one of the best Premiers Crus in Savigny for more than 200 years. Owner Maurice Ecard, who is now retired, was considered by many experts to be the father of the appellation. The new owner, Vincent Sauvestre, has been carefully following Maurice Ecard's footstep in order to continue his legacy.

Domaine Maurice Ecard's wines reflect the appellation and take the best of what Pinot Noir has to offer for the reds: a ton of fruit, a little earthiness (but no funky aromas) and a distinctive minerality, which indicates the origin of the soils where the grapes were grown. As far as the whites, the idea is to make fun, affordable, typical of the region, with good minerality and acidity in order to go quite well with food.
